How I Use Collaboration to Redefine Independent Jazz

When people hear “independent artist,” they usually think solo. Lone wolf. No features.
That’s never been my lane.

Collaboration is part of how I shape my sound. It’s not about outsourcing—it’s about blending creative voices while still steering the ship.

My latest release, Tightrope Swing (Scat Vocal Version), features Sage—a uniquely talented vocalist with deep jazz phrasing and control. Her take elevated the track from instrumental groove to something alive, unpredictable, and timeless.

Every artist I work with brings something different to the table. I double sax lines. I build violin stems into my guitar mixes. I keep my arrangements flexible—because I don’t just want jazz that sounds good. I want jazz that breathes.

And I do it all without a label. No team. Just the gear, the ears, and the vision.

Stay tuned—more drops are coming. This is what independent jazz looks like when you stop asking for permission.
